Georgina Craig
Georgina has 21 years of experience working in healthcare. Her hallmark is lateral thinking and a strategic approach to change management. She is particularly good at drawing together different stakeholders within healthcare to help them identify ‘win wins’ by focusing on the needs of the patient.
Georgina has worked for a wide range of profit and not for profit organisations across health care. For over a decade, Georgina worked on behalf of pharmacy organisations to bring commissioners and providers together and focus on innovative pharmacy service development. Many of the services her team conceptualised and piloted are now embedded in the pharmacy contract or earmarked for future roll out in the Pharmacy White Paper (2008).
Georgina is widely recognised for her expertise in commissioning and provider development within pharmacy and more broadly in primary care circles. She has been intimately involved in policy development and maintains close links with the Department of Health.
Georgina heads up the NHS Alliance’s Pharmacy Commissioning Network. With her knowledge of both the pharmacy and wider commissioning agendas, she is ideally qualified to both advise NHS Alliance and ensure that, through the NHS Alliance PSC Network, pharmacy commissioners have a voice in policy making.
Georgina also runs her own social enterprise consultancy. She works closely with a wide range of individual health care providers and commissioning organisations to develop innovative approaches that improve commissioning and patient participation. She maintains extensive networks across the health care community. She is also a freelance health journalist.
