Building knowledge, skills and confidence in clinical commissioning

The Commissioning Academy (formerly the PBC Academy) is a Department of Health supported learning resource run by the NHS Alliance. We offer accessible, practical training that is designed to quickly increase skills, knowledge and confidence in clinical commissioning. Courses are developed and run by recognised experts, who have a wealth of clinical and managerial experience in the delivery and support of NHS commissioning.

The NHS Alliance is the only independent body that brings together primary care trusts’ chief executives and other senior managers, doctors and practice managers, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals, along with board chairs and members. We are a value-driven organisation, with no political affiliation, which works in partnership with various bodies associated with the NHS to create a progressive health service that is free from the traditional tribalism of single interest groups.

    Backed by NHS experts

Content is developed and run by recognised experts, who have a wealth of clinical and managerial experience in the delivery and support of NHS commissioning. Modules are jargon-free and focus on active, hands-on learning rather than theory to give participants practical skills that can be applied immediately.
