Judges
Criteria:
This award will be given to a clinician who is leading within a GP consortium. He/she will be expected to show exceptional leadership skills, which command the respect of as wide a parish as possible and to have created a clear vision and shown some practical beneficial outcomes. Criteria considered important by the judges will be:-
• Evidence that the leader has made a difference to the organisation in terms of vision and strategy.
• Evidence (with personal accounts) of how the leader has made a difference to the quality and direction of local services and health initiatives.
• Evidence that the leader has "followers" especially among frontline clinicians and local patients.
• Evidence of the ability to challenge and confront, where necessary, in the best interests of local patients.
• Evidence and ability to balance authority and clear decisions with respect and admiration of those being led.
• Some narrative evidence of how the leaders leadership style has contributed to one or two changes in particular.
Evidence submitted should include a summary (maximum one side of A4) and testimonies from a peer leader within the GP consortium, a GP member and practice manager member from a local practice within the consortium and also from one or more patients involved within the consortium. None should be connected with the leaders own practice.
