Liberating practice management
Released: 21/07/2011
The NHS Alliance has published today Liberating Practice Management: How to create a thriving practice in challenging times.
Liberating Practice Management brings to life a range of management challenges facing GP practices, offering case studies as well as practical advice and tools that practice managers can use straightway to improve their practices’ services and performance.
Whether it is managing practice finances during difficult times, engaging with the local community, achieving excellent customer services or developing quality systems, practice managers will find something in this document to help them realise the opportunities clinical commissioning provides to improve patient care and manage NHS resources effectively.
Caroline Kerby, co-lead of the NHS Practice Management Network, said: “We care for millions of patients every day and, during the health care reforms, practice managers will be pivotal in looking after their teams and making sure they are supported in developing the skills and abilities required.
“But it is not only about doing it better. The NHS Alliance Practice Management Network also works hard to ensure that practice management is recognised for the valuable contribution it makes on a daily basis to patients and communities. We have regional leads who provide practical help and support to practice managers as they navigate their way through the changing primary care landscape.”
