Dr Dharini Shanmugabavan: national executive
Dharini is a GP with a passion to create NHS services ‘she would be proud to use herself’. She seeks to improve the patient’s journey by breaking the historic invisible boundaries between services to make ‘one’ NHS and ensuring that services are of the highest quality whilst maintaining the patient at the centre of their care.
Dharini is a GP in South London and Deputy Medical Director for a London community NHS trust. She is also a GP appraiser.
Dharini has worked as a GP clinical lead for a Primary Care Trust managing various areas including an Urgent Care Centre, COPD and NHS 111. She has also worked as a GP advisor for NHS London
Dharini was an associate GP for North West London and South London Cancer Commissioning Team. Dharini was also a GP Clinical Lead for the Homeless Team for King’s Health Partners, London. This role involved working with homeless patients within three London teaching hospitals – King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital.
Dharini has completed the Darzi fellowship. She is also a member of NHS Alliance’s Tomorrow’s Leaders Network.
