Dr Donal Hynes: national executive
Donal became PEC Chair in Somerset at the inception of PCTs and developed the first and still successful Musculoskeletal Interface Service. The county developed a sophisticated Practice Based Commissioning movement and he was appointed to the Department of Health PBC invigorating Team. The Somerset CCG has progressed into one of the earliest and successful Commissioning pathfinders.
Donal is also Vice-chair of the NHS Alliance and is involved in developing coherent and radical concepts to deliver fully integrated care system with local populations being the co-commissioners and providing governance. He chaired the South West LTC Committee under the Lord Darzi review.
